Our journey began with a simple goal: to find a Landrace piglet and raise her into a productive sow. The excitement was palpable as we set off, not knowing the adventure that awaited us. After a short while, we arrived at our destination, eager to meet the piglets. The anticipation built as we waited to be shown the selection. Finally, there she was – our chosen piglet.
Loading her into the car was the first challenge, but we managed with care. This five-month-old piglet already weighed around 130 kgs, a testament to her breed’s impressive growth. We knew she’d need a bit more feeding to reach her full potential. The journey home was smooth, filled with anticipation for her new life.
Arriving home, we carefully unloaded her and introduced her to her new enclosure. Watching her explore her surroundings, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of hope. We dream of her becoming a productive sow, contributing to our farm and our future. To help her settle in, we offered her some bread, a small gesture of welcome.
