Bonehead Truckers of the Week: Don’t Be These Guys!
Welcome back to another edition of Bonehead Truckers of the Week! This is where we shine a light on some of the not-so-bright moments we see out on the open road. This Week’s Highlights (or Lowlights?):
- Fashion Faux Pas: We kicked things off with a driver sporting flip-flops while tarping a load. Remember folks, real truckers prioritize safety, and that includes proper footwear!
- Canal Calamity: Someone misjudged a turn and ended up taking an unexpected dip in a canal. Definitely a “bonehead” moment.
- Early Bird Gets the…Side Swipe? We saw a driver who just couldn’t wait and cut over a little too soon, causing some damage. Patience is a virtue on the road!
- The Case of the Flipped Truck: A reminder to stay alert! We saw a truck flipped over, possibly due to falling asleep, a blown tire, or a medical issue.
- Vertical Video Woes: A quick PSA from your host: please, please, please film in landscape mode! It makes for a much better viewing experience for everyone, especially those watching on their TVs. If you start in portrait, just flip it sideways – it can be edited!
- Bridge Banger: Despite clear signage indicating an 11’3″ clearance, someone managed to hit a bridge. Ouch.
- Hit and Run (Not Really): A driver made a turn and clipped a car, then just kept on going. Newsflash: there are cameras everywhere!
- Shoulder Shenanigans: Pulling out from the shoulder right in front of oncoming traffic? Not a smart move. Build up some speed first!
- Mirror Check Miracle: Kudos to a driver who was diligently checking their mirrors while turning left. It likely prevented a nasty accident with another truck that wasn’t paying attention.
- Ego Trippin’: We witnessed some classic “battle of the egos” on the road, including running red lights and aggressive passing that forced others off the road. Remember, it’s not a race!
- Flip-Flop Flashback: Another reminder about professional attire, even if you call them “slides.” If you want respect, dress the part.
